Shuzenji Temple(修禅寺)
Shuzenji Temple
"Shuzenji Temple(修禅寺)" was founded by "Kobo Daishi Kukai(弘法大師 空海)" in 807.
It is known to have been worshipped by the Hojo clan during the Kamakura period and has watched over the rise and fall of the "Hojo" and "Minamoto" clans.
Because of its historical background, Shuzenji Temple is designated as a "National Important Cultural Property".
The "Treasure House(宝物館)" exhibits a number of treasures from Shuzenji.
Bamboo Grove Path(Chikurin no Komichi(竹林の小径))
Chikurin no Komichi
"Bamboo grove path(Chikurin no Komichi(竹林の小径))" is a promenade along the Katsura River that runs through the center of the hot spring resort.
In the center of the path is a circular bamboo bench.
Sitting on the bench and looking around you, the view is beautiful and gives you a feeling that you have come to Shuzenji.
After sunset, the area is lit up and visitors can enjoy a night stroll.
Tokko no Yu(独鈷の湯)
Tokko no Yu
"Tokko no Yu(独鈷の湯)" is the original hot spring of Shuzenji Onsen, located on the banks of the Katsuragawa River, which flows through the center of the Shuzenji Onsen resort.
The Tokko-no Yu is the symbol of Shuzenji Onsen.
Unfortunately, bathing is not allowed, but it is possible to get up close and see it.
Kawarayu(川原湯)
Kawarayu
"Kawarayu(川原湯)" is located overlooking the "Tokko no Yu", the symbol of Shuzenji Onsen.
At Kawarayu, you can enjoy footbath by free.
Your feet will feel warm and relaxed.
The view of the "Katsura River" and the "Tokko no Yu" is also recommended.
Bridges of Love(恋の橋巡り)

Each of the five bridges over the Katsura River is "believed to bring blessings related to love".
